| My name is Barbara Caballero and this is the story
of Cottonwood Creek Cloggers. I started clogging in 1998 in Oklahoma City, OK after watching a group at the State Fair. I danced with them until 2002, when I decided the drive was more than I wanted. At that point, I decided to strike out on my own.
Cottonwood Creek Cloggers was formed in 2002 in Guthrie, with 4 ladies and me. We met anywhere we could; mostly in my garage, but we also spent some evenings at the drive-in facility of First Capital Bank and in the basement of the American Legion Building in Guthrie. During that time our little group grew and I knew we were in need of a permanent home. In 2004, I started dreaming of a studio right here on my property and in October 2005, the studio was completed. My husband, who graciously endured our noisy practices for 3 years with never a complaint, was more than happy to help finish out the studio. Our classes are geared toward teaching adults the art of clogging; however, anyone is welcome and if you have a child that you feel would enjoy learning to clog, please feel free to bring them with you. |
